I am a Maternal Health Occupational Therapist and owner of Crescent Pelvic Health + Wellness in San Antonio, TX. I support women through the transition into motherhood who want to regain control of their mental, physical and spiritual health. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for you to get you relief you need so that you can do the things that bring you joy!

As an Acute Care Occupational Therapist, I was used to completing evaluations on patients after abdominal surgeries to make sure they were able to complete their self-care activities once they discharged home.  Yet, after my unexpected c-section, I did not get a referral for rehab.  I couldn’t advocate for myself. Between the insomnia, fatigue, and the inability to feed my baby because my milk wasn’t coming in, I didn’t advocate for myself. I was getting dizzy every time I stood up. I needed help from my mother to finish showering even though I was sitting because I felt so tired. I remember being in the car, staring at my sweet baby girl terrified of how I would be able to take care of her and myself. Then the next challenge appeared, going up the stairs to my second floor apartment. Luckily, my husband could carry the car seat up the stairs. It took me 5 minutes with rest breaks between the shortness of breath, the dizziness, and c-section incision pain.

I was so lucky to have my training as an acute care therapist to get me through this experience. It dawned on me that no one advocated for me or once asked me if I felt comfortable going home. While mothers are only seen at the 6 weeks postpartum check, if that. Meanwhile, babies are born and are seen at least 7 times in their first year of life by their pediatrician.

The reality is that postpartum symptoms are only beginning at the 6-week mark and most of us are so wrapped up in our sweet child/children. And we lose sight of our own health and needs. This is where I come in on your journey through motherhood.

By taking a deep dive into your daily activities, social support, functional mobility, strength and coordination, and your mental health, I will co-create a plan with you that fits your life, your goals, and give you the relief you seek.

I am passionate about empowering women during this transition to motherhood. By teaching and supporting you in this role transition and dynamic change by adapting to the new normal, embracing your rebirth while staying true to you and finding what works for you in the new routine and current life roles.

Y lo mejor de todo, es que hablo español.
